What people often ask us.
Can you read my messages?
No. Private conversations are end-to-end encrypted: they are locked on your device and can only be opened by the people you are talking to. Our servers only see unreadable data.
What happens after 24 hours?
Messages, photos and files are automatically deleted from our servers. Deletion is permanent: nobody, not even us, can restore them.
Do I need to give a phone number or an email?
No. You receive an invitation, choose a username and a password, and that’s it.
Which devices does it work on?
On iPhone and Android with the Element X app, on desktop, and directly in a web browser. You can use several devices with the same account.
How much does it cost exactly?
$2 per user per month. A team of ten people therefore pays $20 per month, all included.
